What is sustainable fashion and Why is it expensive?


कपड़ों का मक़सद सिर्फ तन ढकना नहीं कपड़ें हमारे व्यक्तित्व का आईना होते है। कपड़े "रोटी कपड़ा और मकान" वाली त्रिमूर्ति में आने वाली एक बेसिक ज़रूरत नहीं बल्कि कपड़े आपकी image को नयी directions प्रदान करतें हैं।
अगर एक औसत व्यक्ति की अलमारी खोल कर देखा जाए तो उसके पास उसकी जरूरत से ज़्यादा कपड़ें होंगें पर अगर उसे किसी function में जाना हो उसे उस अलमारी में पहनने लायक़ कपड़े शायद ही मिलें इसलिए अक्सर कोई फंक्शन अटेंड करने से पहले आपको मार्किट जाने की जरूरत पड़ती है। क्योंकि फैशन हर पल बदलता है आज जो चीज़ ट्रेंड में है हो सकता है वो चीज़ कल आउट ऑफ फैशन हो जाए। और अच्छा दिखने की इस अंधी दौड़ में कोई भी पीछे छूटना नहीं चाहता।
हमारी इसी भूख ने आज फैशन इंडस्ट्री को दुनिया की दूसरी सबसे ज़्यादा प्रदूषण फैलाने वाली इंडस्ट्री बना दिया है। इंसानों द्वारा पैदा किया जाने वाले हानिकारक कार्बन का 10 प्रतिशत हिस्सा सिर्फ फैशन इंडस्ट्री से निकलता है।
जो कपड़ें आप और हम पहनतें हैं वो चीन जैसे किसी देश में बनकर आतें हैं जहां लेबर लॉ इतने फ्लेक्सिबल हैं कि फैक्टरी मालिकों को कामगारों के शोषण का फ्री हैंड मिलता है।

छोटे छोटे बच्चें जिनके हाथों में खिलोने और किताबें होनी चाहिए थीं उन्हें फेक्टरियों में झोंक दिया जाता है। और बाकी कामगारों को भी उनका हक नही मिलता। फैशन इंडस्ट्री में काम करने वाले हर साल लगभग 1.4 million लोग injured हो जातें हैं जिन्हें ना प्रॉपर हेल्थकेयर मिल पाता है ना मुआवज़ा। ऊपर से जो raw material इन कपड़ों को बनाने में इस्तेमाल होता है वो ज़्यादातर नॉन बायोडिग्रेडेबल होता है यानी गलता नहीं हैं। एक स्टडी के अनुसार फैशन इंडस्ट्री से हर सेकंड एक ट्रक के बराबर हानिकारक waste निकलता है जो landfills में डंप कर दिया जाता है।
ये सब पढ़ कर आप सोच रहें होंगें कि ठीक है हम समझ गए पर हम कर ही क्या सकतें हैं इस सब को बेहतर बनाने के लिए?
अगर इसका जवाब एक शब्द में माँगा जाए तो उत्तर होगा  "Sustainable Fashion".
"जब फैशन इंडस्ट्री में इस्तेमाल होने वाले फैब्रिक को ओर्गानिक तऱीके से उगाया जाए । जिसमे पेस्टिसाइड और दूसरे केमिकल्स का इस्तेमाल होने की बजाए प्राकृतिक खाद का इतेमाल किया जाए। ऐसी प्रक्टिसेस को अमल में लाया जाए कि कार्बन का उत्सर्जन कम से कम हो और कपास किसान से लेकर काम करने वाले हर मज़दूर को उसका पूरा हक मिले, तो इस प्रेक्टिस को sustainable fashion and fair fashion का नाम दिया जाता है। और ये सिर्फ एक प्रैक्टिस नहीं बल्कि एक "सोशियो-इकनोमिक मूवमेंट" है।जिसका मक़सद सिर्फ पैसा कमाना नहीं है बल्कि दुनिया को एक "better place" बनना हैं।
यूं तो ये सब पढ़ने के बाद आप का रुझान sustainable fashion की तरफ बढ़ जाएगा।पर कहतें हैं कि ईमानदारी की एक क़ीमत होती है और sustainable fashion भी इस कहावत से अछूता नहीं हैं।
अगर हर चीज़ में ईमानदारी बरती जाएगी तो क़ीमतें बढ़ जाएंगी और अगर आप एक उपभोक्ता बनकर सोचेंगे तो यही कहेंगे कि pocket और ethics के decision making तराजू पर pocket अक्सर भारी पड़ती है।

आप सस्ता छोड़ कर महँगी चीज़ क्यों खरीदेंगे? तो चलिए कोशिश करतें है जवाब ढूंढने की।
“ Sustainable Fashion Facts"
पहला ,अंग्रेज़ी में एक कहावत है "Feel good to look good." अगर एक कपड़ें को आप ये समझ कर पहनेंगे की इसे पहनकर आप दुनिया को बेहतर बनाने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं तो आपके मन में शांति का भाव पैदा होगा और चेहरा एक व्यक्ति के मन का आईना होता है अगर आपके चहेरे पर सुकून होगा तो आपकी खूबसूरती में इज़ाफ़ा हो जाएगा।
दूसरा, मशहूर लेखक जॉन रॉबिन्स ने अपनी बेस्ट सेलर किताब "healthy at 100" जिसमें उन्होंने लंबा और सेहतमंद जीवन जीने के कारगर नुस्ख़े लिखें हैं, उन्होंने बताया कि शोध के दौरान मैंने जितने भी लंबी उम्र वालों को स्टडी किया तो पाया कि वो सब लोग औरों की फिक्र करते थे। सबके बारें में सोचते थे। तभी शायद इंसान को सोशल एनिमल कहा गया है। दूसरों की चिंता करने वाले को खुद की चिंता कम होती है और यही एक स्वस्थ जीवन की कुंजी है और यही कर्मा है।
तीसरा sustainable fashion एक जल्दी जल्दी बदलने वाला फ़ास्ट फैशन नहीं बल्कि एक जीवनशैली है। ये एक ना बदलने वाले ट्रेंड पर आधारित है। इसकी क्वालिटी और स्टाइलिंग ऐसी है कि एक बार खरीद कर आप इसे सालो साल इस्तेमाल कर सकते हैं।
ऊपर के logics को पढ़ कर इस conclusion पर पहुंचा जा सकता है कि पहली नज़र में  महँगा लगने वाला sustainable fashion वास्तव में उतना महँगा नहीं हैं।
अब फैसला आपको करना है क्योंकि आप ही consumer है | बस याद रखिये छोटी चीज़े अक्सर बड़े बदलाव का वजह बनती हैं।
